We celebrated Mari's seventeenth birthday with a black forest cake that I made--it had four layers of whipped cream and cherry filling. We gave her a new Bible and also a coupon to get her ears pierced. She had a wonderful day with her friends. They gave her cards and some specially baked cookies, etc. Oh, yes, we had our usual steak dinner we reserve for celebrations.
