These are baby cardinals that are just about ready to leave the nest. They are in the shrub by our front door. I was nervous taking their picture because they started squacking at me and the parent birds were very nervous flying around. I have not seen a cardinal nest so close before. They used strips of old plastic and newspaper in the nest. One person's junk is a bird's treasure.
