August 17 Summer's Over for Mari

Mari started her junior year (11th grade) today. She had already written two essays for her literature class this summer, so school actually never completely ended for her. She has some challenging classes, including 3rd year Japanese at the University, Pre-calculus, and AP (Advanced Placement) Literature. We'll be cheering her on. I'm always telling her she studies too much and insisting that she have fun. Wish all of life was so simple for me.

  3. Oh Sweet Mari - where have the years gone? For some reason this picture made me think of you at age 3 or so when you were here and helping me clear the table outside - you poured the unused water on the flowers. I said, "Mari you are a dandy helper". To the tune of Mary had a little lamb you sang, "Mari is a dandy helper" as you poured water. You still have that sweet, helpful, creative nature. Best wishes for a year of fun as well as academics. ILY M
